If your chosen amplifier uses valves, then your maintenance schedule will be more involved than its counterpart the transistor. With high technology & the evolution of the ‘valve preamp - solid state output’ design, the modern amplifier can be a complex piece of kit. Despite all this technology, the fundamental core design of the 21st century guitar amplifier remains the same.

Valve Fitting Service

When it comes to these glass tubes it can be a bit of a minefield! The fact is, valves are becoming more difficult to source, This is due to major amplifier manufacturers buying out the valve companies to meet their own high demands for supply. Equivalent tubes with exactly the same ratings, from different manufacturers, will vary in tone.
We can advise on tubes for various amp models, & have wide experience in fitting most brands.
Our valve fitting service covers all the aspects that will make the difference, from correct grade & selection to suit your amp, to matching & biasing which is essential for troublefree operation.

Speakers

We fit all types, from equivalents to original units, maybe you require an upgrade, either to handle more power, or perhaps to warm up the tone of your cabinet.
Speakers deteriorate over time & lose their clarity & punch, severe cone damage is usually due to misuse or overloading.
If you're dealing with original vintage equipment and want to preserve the value, reconing is a must. This is not a cheap option, but is sometimes necessary. (All our reconing work is sent out to a specialist).
